Gold coins with imprinted image of panda are minted in Republic of China since 1982. They are still most popular and mostly demanded golden coins in the world.
Design of the back of the coin, on which the scene from panda’s life is shown, are being changed annualy, which makes it collectable.
The exeption to this are the editions from 2001 and 2002 which have identical design.
On the front side of the coin the image of the Temple of Heaven is imprinted which is in the centre of Bejing, above in Chinese letter is printed "National Republic of China".
At the bottom the year of publication is imprinted, and if it is commemorative edition, the coin contains additional writing marks.
The coin is considered to be the official mean of payment in China. It is made in nominal value of 25 Yuan’s or 1/20 ounce, 50 Yuan or 1/10 ounce, 100 Yuan or 1/4 ounce, 200 Yuan or 1/2 ounce and 500 Yuan or 1 ounce.
Coins released in period between 1983 and 2000 have lower nominal values, which goes in range between 5 and 100 Yuan.

•The smallest coin of 1/20 ounces has a diameter of 13, 92 mm, thickness of 0,83 mm and weight of 1,05 mm.
•Coin of 1/4 ounce weights 7, 77 grams, has diameter of 21, 95 mm and thickness of 1,53 mm.
Golden coin “Panda” besides in standard weights expressed in ounces was released in 1991 and the weight of 1 gram, and the nominal value of it is 3 Yuan.
